Cynosure Affirm 1320/1440 (Fractional Technology)

Cynosure Affirm is the next non ablative Fractional Therapy laser to enter the market following Fraxel and utilizes two revolutionary technologies.

How it works?

First is Combined Apex Pulse (CAP) technology, which delivers 1000 pinpoint laser energy in a 10 mm spot through a micro-array of lenses, allowing for less energy to be applied, resulting in quicker treatment session with minimal discomfort.
The second unique feature to Affirm is Cynosure’s patented “Multiplex” technology which has been so successfully applied in their “Smart-Lipo” Triplix laser platform. The “Multiplex” technology basically delivers two different laser wavelength 1320 and 1440 simultaneously in one pulse. 1440 emits energy to the upper layer of the skin (similar to Solta Clear & Brilliant 1440) where greatest typical sun damage occurs; while 1320 emits energy to the deeper layer to promote skin tightening and improvement of wrinkles and scars through production of new collagen and elastin, making it one of our favorite choice of lasers to treat acne scars, stretch marks, pigmented lesions from sun damage and fine wrinkles surrounding the peri-orbital and peri-oral areas.

Due to their technological break throughs, both Fraxel and Affirm have paved the way and set the golden standards by which the rest of lasers using similar fractional technology have strived to meet.

Usually 3 to 6 treatments, spaced 3 to 4 weeks apart. Some patients will benefit with maintenance treatment every 6 months

Redness and swelling, which usually last a few hours but can last up to a few days in certain areas and how aggressively the skin is being treated; usually lessens with each additional therapy. A sound preparation of the skin before, during, and after each laser session is essential to optimize the recovery process. We usually recommend patients reserve 2 days of rest for the first session, but many find it unnecessary and return back to work the following day.
