Cynosure Palomar Icon MaxG IPL

For years, Palomar has been synonymous with one of the best Intense pulse light (IPL) technology out in the market. Icon Max G is Cynosure Palomar’s most technologically advanced IPL for Photo-Facial therapy, optimized for the simultaneous treatment of both unwanted vessels and pigmented lesions both of which inevitably come with aging and sun exposure. Some of its features include “Advanced Contact Cooling” for maximum comfort and safety and “Skintel Melanin Reader” which analyzes your patient’s “melanin index” for optimal treatment settings based on your skin type, making it the “smartest” photo-facial IPL out in the market. Best part is that it is quick with minimal discomfort and downtime. With significant reduction of unwanted vessels and spotty pigments, you will be rewarded with natural appearing skin which looks less weathered, and definitely more younger and healthy looking.

How it works?

Max G photo-Facial IPL therapy delivers pulses of light which specifically targets and remove broken vessels and spotty pigmentations without harming surrounding tissues, resulting in clearer skin that looks younger and fresher. A few technological advances unique to Max G is that it offers more energy across the board via dual bands of wavelengths (500-600 nm and 870-1200 nm) that can better target the absorption of hemoglobin in the presence of melanin. The MaxG also offers “Dynamic Spectrum Shifting” which provides more uniform heating across the entire width of blood vessels, making it more effective in terms to addressing the wider and deeper vessels compared to other IPLs out in the market.

In addition to addressing individual blood vessels, Max G has earned its reputation as one of the most effective solution for fading redness, flushing and Rosacea to reveal clearer, more natural looking skin in just a few treatments. During the month following treatment, the body continues to absorb blood vessels, causing facial redness to significantly diminish. As a result, it has become one of the golden standards to treat patients suffering from redness, flushing, and Rosacea.

For pigmented areas, there will be slight redness, immediate darkening of the pigment (positive sign that the pigment has been successfully targeted), followed by flaking of the pigment crust over the next 5 to 7 days, where upon, your unwanted pigment will be lighter appearing or erased all together.
For unwanted vascular issues, initially there will be some darkening of the blood vessels with surrounding redness along with mild swelling. Over the next 2-4 weeks, your body will naturally re-absorb the treated vessels and many will become much less visible or simply disappear all together.
