We call this our “baby” Fraxel as it incorporates the same fractional technology as the Fraxel Re:store 1550. In fact it was originally marketed as “Fraxel Re:fine” using 1410nm. Applying the technology of Microscopic treatment zones (MTZ), columns of thermal heating 1/10th the size of a hair follicle is evenly distributed, mainly in the upper part of the skin where greatest sun damage occurs. Usually patients are rewarded with improvement in fine lines, skin tone and texture, giving you a clear and brilliant glow as the name suggests. It usually requires 3 to 5 treatments before result are apparent with minimal downtime and, friendly to most skin types, making it very versatile for a broad spectrum of patients. Most patients experience mild redness and swelling for few hours which resolves. This is basically a no down-time procedure. A sound preparation of the skin before, during, and after each laser session is essential to optimize the recovery process. We usually recommend patients reserve 1 day of recovery time following the first laser session, though most patients find it unnecessary.
